conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_25529341087_o 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-25_26168033920_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. skywalk-gibraltar-17-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367549530_o 20-agosto-2014-colas-de-salida-de-gibraltar11_14964626146_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-10_19468690063_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703086528_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23325266355_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival42_14981650799_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-76_28818132243_o img_5898_49085939808_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach university-23_27855821359_o 7u3a5326_49336695366_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165200234_o Mezquita-7 img_9497_27252725437_o Mezquita-18 img_5249_48919072023_o img_1470_43725802765_o stormzy-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-21_44833877632_o img_1515_44635096401_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-139_38547035801_o img_0761_39737057655_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978715216_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-4_29605162765_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-34_29605141075_o gibraltar-recuerda-a-las-vctimas-de-los-ataques-de-pars_22803092378_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-83_22784241378_o 2g9a9686_29481296705_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275185400_o 98049_28871949794_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-37_24573482679_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-72_21161111856_o 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-02_19963609685_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_5498_19440838701_o 2g9a2033_27170661271_o img_1461_24610162939_o rueda-de-prensa-de-fabin-picardo-y-joseph-garca-en-bruselas_27187092956_o img_8936_24480510855_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24201453210_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24470817706_o gibraltar-national-day_010_9717069741_o gibraltar-national-day_014_9719764112_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-14_17968762876_o 6 BP200031 2g9a8760_51680448757_o HMS Prince of Wales en Gibraltar
