181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto img_3350_34112849451_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_3750_34086393702_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival16_15168468635_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-24_16744256733_o 2g9a0541_26246266054_o img_2686_45564842381_o 2g9a0833_48806238682_o superman-en-gibraltar-actor-henry-cavill-carrera-5km-del-350-aniversario-de-la-marina-britanica-25102014-10_15448934790_o university-33_39633679641_o img_9542_42077118512_o 7u3a5714_49425346503_o 2g9a1992_49048518508_o 2g9a2167_48706247176_o devils-tongue-3_38925032844_o img_5351_48919804487_o gib-calling_panorama-10_48705912243_o dscf7903_30729837628_o 2g9a5331_48726175831_o img_9981_42144388372_o stormzy-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-21_44833877632_o img_4150_36994291622_o img_3027_44603357171_o 24-04-2017-desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-de-los-royal-engineers-6_34113616971_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-72_38547077171_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-25_29605150335_o 51_48203763676_o 2g9a5064_30925476506_o img_8973_38333052562_o_24494947168_o 2g9a9296_28860269943_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-23_37148806115_o_37027015361_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-51 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36331782354_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-50bn_21228482942_o img_2672_25226116076_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-26_15513087691_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
