nueva-ruta-area-gibraltar-manchester_27468150734_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. restauracin-cementerio-witham-23_25110015769_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-87_22756727391_o 1_discurso-del-ministro-principal-en-la-cuarta-comisin-de-la-asamblea-general-de-la-organizacin-de-naciones-unidas_30035758571_o john-corts_15427039134_o In less than five minutes a free flowing pedestrain zone saw queues increased by effecting a total stop of all persons crossing for nearly 15 minutes. This led to queues forming on the Gibraltar side extending into the airport forecourt within minutes. img_5188_34284277512_o lema-qu-date-en-casa_49846839316_o thank-you-to-health-workers-2_49846839216_o Year Pack 2017.indd 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-6_32513496236_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 2g9a2946_49093920563_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-22_19285909334_o 2g9a0944_48805744238_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente13_12249247903_o P1080699 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153217_o 2g9a0669_48919068688_o img_2945_43693498215_o img_1827_37002176495_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_39182270424_o img_9771_44160762904_o img_9021_37650138674_o_24494944638_o img_8124_44553068722_o img_8799_38364855041_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-2_38627527620_o 2g9a9381_32228015691_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354065513_o 2g9a5774_32383642310_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-11_30661243030_o 2g9a9671_29372753262_o 120793_29462638656_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25551865203_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
