181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0411_45389529274_o img_0531_44297152210_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-gabrielle-aplin_9699749285_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival30_14461042521_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-73_28815961804_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-14_25062335876_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-74_28815959034_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742374873_o img_9585_42077110212_o 2g9a9782_50032155663_o 2g9a8783_48826624131_o Caleta-y-Playa g_3661_38736744805_o img_6423_24764942367_o Punta-Europa-5 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-14 img_4111_31960315188_o img_1523_43725781705_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114555027_o 20171214_111137_24195069727_o cof untitpanorama1_36623856830_o 2g9a5964_48204605241_o img_0447_36479606205_o img_4619_48714310567_o 2g9a5268_25325629009_o img_9794_43969679195_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-20 CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26405547700_o img_8721_39877397052_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24098782072_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-112_29314612800_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-15_23497273495_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
