181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-02_9225042222_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-19_9222318607_o 1_discurso-del-ministro-principal-en-la-cuarta-comisin-de-la-asamblea-general-de-la-organizacin-de-naciones-unidas_30084977716_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16193088359_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23029564020_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25125380319_o 2018-HMS-Queen-Elizabeth 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-01_24372212306_o gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-08_12864685853_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-27_40133913952_o img_4169_20486692433_o 2g9a0331_48801427832_o 2g9a0656_48919599111_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-18_37623776672_o img_4167_44014422520_o city-hall_39632534931_o img_1885_26967044668_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-133_37830965094_o img_0807_39910043751_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_8833_24494271258_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-11_31980778152_o 1_17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32217922802_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876084291_o 2g9a7209_29207186483_o 105550_29388298542_o img_5165_28857223163_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-30 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25197190110_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-4_24941103085_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 0000-0a-dsc_6124_18815826793_o 2g9a9968_27596511960_o img_2169_27602507422_o 2g9a0164_26882537631_o img_9217_25955136754_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_25920749753_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
