A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9357_48908093006_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-213_22557449590_o los-macacos-de-berbera-smbolo-inequvoco-de-gibraltar_22118329403_o 25-noviember-2014-cola-de-salida-gibraltar-03_15695202410_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar02_10382459826_o img_48176_41820476192_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-01_9222657595_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii25_21216501695_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-91_29360016551_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente05_12249585836_o 2g9a0395_48801429432_o img_4087_21081702946_o 2g9a0949_48806102211_o 2g9a9760_50032952617_o 7u3a5305_49336227778_o Monos-49 img_3826_30891439667_o img_2789_38925381264_o img_4079_31960328568_o img_4655_48714310362_o img_2988_43693497595_o img_3089_40043449575_o img_0767_26036935798_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-92_26771252809_o img_9132_37650319204_o_37651619314_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-42_32022600381_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354056413_o 2g9a5753_32383635430_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-6_33659897543_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-122_29494980092_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31464570915_o 2g9a5899_30306647673_o_31114929795_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-25_30280681093_o img_9513_26493006921_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-69_20999231580_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_0230_19249109008_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-13_15757892179_o 2g9a0295_26345456384_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_25782727594_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-67_21274360576_o img_8064_20677352233_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4061_17816591790_o img_4313_20513607536_o
