Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. COLA GIBRALTAR img_3425_34086341712_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 img_6593_35154402670_o img_2592_45564831661_o img_2635_45564819441_o 2g9a0833_48806238682_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-realizando-maniobras-de-aproximacin-a-gibraltar_40133897532_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-28_19900998582_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-15_13967063627_o img_4088_20920005248_o 1_img_0118_43733173002_o img_4280_20486536373_o 7u3a9568_49900298323_o P1080690 1_Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-12 img_2977_42792489040_o stormzy-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-14_43072435540_o img_1490_43725754835_o img_1492_42824864110_o img_3344_40895441202_o img_3543_36982592303_o img_9146_37650292474_o_38310538546_o img_2681_24884672039_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354050183_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-23_28979583374_o 2g9a6089_31113390655_o_31078854826_o 2g9a5105_22782608248_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-21_30962841905_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-35 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26679027995_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-25_24645626450_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-35_21195229421_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off festival-internacional-de-la-cancin-de-gibraltar_17316620700_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-13_15516254545_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-23_15515852032_o ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-02_15171327257_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24129267839_o img_8642_3_4_fused_20700500683_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-01_17372600054_o nuevo-gobernador-de-gibraltar04_11312473256_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4206_17816332128_o 7U3A4824 BP200031
