desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_44793075204_o restauracin-cementerio-witham-2_25110010969_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9482_48907569733_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-80_22745525755_o COLA GIBRALTAR gibraltar-en-el-cuarto-comit-de-la-onu_30271370637_o img_4816_41863365531_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-emili-sande_9703004352_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9699827313_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-15_40133903232_o 2g9a0272_48801427297_o 2g9a1992_49048518508_o Trafalgar-6 WP_20140508_030 P1080642 ragged-staff-gate-1_27855442659_o 2g9a6717_48204067881_o img_3989_30891444647_o 2g9a4645_48713813593_o img_1265_36861662631_o img_1159_36861637871_o img_2348_39948490785_o img_9485_44550411892_o img_0190_36311391842_o img_9496_29664841447_o img_0619_36479632685_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37168291225_o 2g9a5260_25325585639_o 2g9a5298_30659927820_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-6_30243942163_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-16_30243936153_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-7_30578377870_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939778534_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275180030_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-11_26330688893_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-11_23388774212_o 27205708896_d46be6c7ac_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
