He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868057431_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_25004392937_o 7u3a9494_49597578211_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16200794597_o 2g9a0346_48801281511_o 1_img_0055_41972489800_o HM-Queen-Elizabeth-II-Prince-Philip-Lifetime-of-Service 2g9a9524_50032626991_o 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-1_15830022764_o 7u3a5787_49425348903_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_001_12193311105_o 7u3a5218_49336694376_o cruise-liners-12_39603827852_o taxi-2_25761854238_o wellington-front0440_38925123684_o dscf7873_43693501095_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153217_o img_2373_25970933557_o img_4901_48919803887_o 2g9a6022_30306929603_o_31001130731_o 5-hassan-centenary-terraces_23521827818_o 2g9a5364_30845260892_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026134071_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-37_25326939909_o 2g9a4491_30280747154_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-1_26329398764_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
