A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-mark-eliyahu-ensemble-15_9225485712_o 7u3a6505_49454484496_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0114-bw_15253400557_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0118-bw_15253196319_o 2g9a0550_26757794462_o img_0786_21605784301_o img_4115_21097751282_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-5_37623780032_o 2g9a9555_50032626906_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-37_37398190510_o 7u3a0061_50032953292_o img_9695_21276213039_o P1080667 Alameda-6 2g9a4230_48230715447_o 2g9a4236_48230714537_o img_1270_36861661641_o img_4677_48714310347_o img_1546_43916084194_o img_4744_48714311142_o 20171214_111203_39025260932_o r3wire-varski-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-14_44163881184_o img_1458_36624005480_o actividades-paralelas-al-open-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_31880166513_o img_0261_36311291132_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-4_31527599701_o 2g9a5867_30999470281_o_31078853306_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770669460_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-34_30578367120_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978708616_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26062053432_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27222309343_o 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho11_14309883432_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201419_15627606509_o 2g9a9850_27262581833_o img_4534_25275503309_o img_9060_24112902739_o img_3780_20736481668_o img_7633_21288149762_o img_8567_21134726509_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day43_15198455231_o 7u3a6894_51342694526_o 2g9a8721_51681502178_o Albert-Isola-2
