Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto sector-juego-online-ladboke-gibraltar-07_9222285887_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-25_9225167288_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-693_22755041561_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-760_22730178002_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-metro-motel_9703123916_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - Candidates from across both parties took time off for a quick lunch as they continued their walk abouts between polling station.Acting Governor Alison Macmilan was also observed visiting polling stations in the company of Presiding Officer Paul Martinez.Others involved in monitoring the progress of the voting has been Unite whose senior committee were on a walk about between polling stations. img_0450_45389551134_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii08_21029739439_o img_8868_20147019981_o 2016-UNESCO-Gorhams-Cave-Complex sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002484178_o partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-03_14569040198_o 16-julio-2014-partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-02_14755672285_o img_5739_49086443586_o img_9553_42077116982_o P1080613 Mezquita-26 panorama-6_38737331865_o dscf7889_30729838038_o untitled_panorama1_48705911238_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-87_29314632820_o stormzy-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-6_44163867514_o 2g9a4703_30827321991_o img_8131_42792485340_o 127014_29416795091_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026139631_o img_5068-copy_29192350980_o img_5109_29479613055_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27799936156_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27556200370_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834012295_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221929624_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-55 img_9509_25954107894_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_24866076103_o 0000-0a-dsc_6124_18815826793_o 2g9a9761_27874079615_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 2g9a2887_27668842426_o The Gibraltar Music Festival img_2557_24723530949_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-50_21300652955_o hms-sabre-7-royal-navy_48859908912_o hms-scimitar-4-royal-navy_48859358328_o rueda-de-prensa-resolucin-comisin-ue12_10967628826_o
