cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22123438113_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. skywalk-gibraltar-3-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273842695_o 2g9a9376_48908297157_o 1_discurso-del-ministro-principal-en-la-cuarta-comisin-de-la-asamblea-general-de-la-organizacin-de-naciones-unidas_29491607544_o airport-18_39633898931_o vista-area-de-las-colas-de-acceso-a-gibraltar_9460827010_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-14_19468680413_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii59_20595293653_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-63_29439806445_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25244584514_o img_6750_35502324926_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742373543_o img_6798_35502341306_o img_2740_44839802834_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-17_9222044379_o jebel-sahara-6-el-tte-garca-white-saluda-al-cte-de-las-ffaa-britnicas-en-gibraltar_23091623056_o img_5801_49086661922_o university-panorama-1_20845308694_o american-war-memorial-7757_38737188735_o 2g9a0955_48806239942_o P1080601 2g9a2172_48706414522_o 2g9a8300_46581739082_o img_3858_30891441567_o img_3240_40043115515_o img_5282_40516032900_o img_8823_24494305578_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-5_37148809235_o_36997616212_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-9_34428539056_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026139761_o 2g9a4491_30280747154_o 2g9a4543_30915068915_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24206823655_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-42_21000558799_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-76_20564673204_o 2g9a9709_27596454650_o 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-04_16034488070_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26387596085_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-65_9289034457_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-05_17968746396_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3757_18005040801_o 7U3A4824 img_1941_20317979361_o img_4417_19916367574_o ten-ton-gun_20529350272_o 7U3A9477 royal-gibraltar-police-3_48859709406_o
