sector-juego-online-ladboke-gibraltar-09_9222284525_o restauracin-cementerio-witham-26_25110013129_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_4014_16074198258_o img_0039_43872616132_o img_9345_42112036860_o asher-moodie-reino-unido-_14034620715_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26902336076_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_27712734898_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0089-bw_15439626152_o img_2586_44650704195_o 2g9a0236_48801426377_o jebel-sahara-1-el-cnel-cte-badr-entrega-una-placa-a-la-embajadora-del-reino-unido-en-marruecos_23091556746_o 2g9a0328_48800935713_o 62032-0-11 sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-12_19544422876_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002484178_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_15766682923_o img_5864_49085940138_o jews-gate-cemetery-0489_24765624257_o WP_20140508_028 alameda-gardens-18_27855922439_o commonwealth-park-1_39633565481_o commonwealth-park-19_39633648071_o shipping-6_38736467335_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402218740_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-5_29314691600_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-125_37830945784_o 2g9a5889_30746101090_o_31001134811_o 2g9a6049_31113406825_o_31001129811_o 2g9a4587_30827334381_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-49_30880571706_o img_5308_29479032585_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-8bn_21228484772_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho06_14312769701_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
