A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_40356658632_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-378_22756274671_o vista-area-de-las-colas-de-acceso-a-gibraltar_9460827010_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0097-bw_15416893166_o img_9359_28984554597_o img_0690_21409275438_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-45_9222695543_o university-29_38925362664_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_32513356486_o strongmen-201376_10018901025_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-3_23803339048_o Monos-38 img_9664_21436944896_o img_7610_38925222864_o WP_20140508_026 img_1264_36830746752_o img_2394_44635569021_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-93_38515439172_o img_2383_26972657888_o 08-may-2017-14visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34353151830_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-29_31299668534_o img_0393_36342216841_o 2g9a5782_31949657513_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37168276155_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-28_29495048432_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-125_29494977692_o 2g9a6151_30306797643_o_31114931355_o 2g9a4573_30827337241_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-48_30828722271_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-29_30578369840_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-9 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-58_20999449128_o img_4043_20438814313_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 10-may-2014-relevo-del-bastn-de-la-reina-de-los-juegos-de-la-commonwealth_14187846203_o gibraltar-national-day_030_9716504145_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
