A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_3743_34112960821_o img_9333_42112019530_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-texas_9699801439_o img_8817_19953547740_o img_6688_35541520415_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 2015-RAF-Squadrons-IV-2 2g9a0622_26246159094_o 7u3a5768_49425349573_o 7u3a5190_49336911937_o casemates-square-1_38737099385_o gorhams-cave-3_39633657121_o gorhams-cave-8_39633659431_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-33 2g9a0644_48919807122_o img_4574_48714144356_o img_0317_45831073751_o img_3913_45106520674_o img_1166_36814004296_o img_9635_43969754385_o dscf7841_43690946415_o 4-europort-avenue_23521829068_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-3_31288267354_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-122_29494980092_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31093097850_o 2g9a5335_30873432881_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-12_25326959639_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-12_30578376000_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941951263_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221932184_o img_9533_25954067274_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25466666316_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-23bn_21052076599_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-24_15493076906_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-06_15357849985_o 2015_09_14__0061_20801293864_o 2015_09_14__0198_21412823342_o img_7633_21288149762_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-32_17995997671_o 7U3A4836 BP200031 20220911_21-GUN-SALUTE_099
