panormica-de-la-plaza-de-casemates-de-gibraltar-al-fondo-el-pen_22119569573_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9916_48907308683_o img_3323_34112854861_o skywalk-gibraltar-18-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273843035_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9703139958_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23325186515_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-11_9225437548_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-08_9222660985_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival02_15165301651_o Gibraltar - Preparations for Operation Sea Snake start at Eastern beach with tanks img_0545_22295985183_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-5_32175360370_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho01_14314277832_o 2g9a1129_48951599123_o 7u3a5734_49425814431_o 7u3a5227_49336913712_o img_1922_27856026519_o panorama-3_24765451327_o 2g9a4259_48230656026_o national-day-panorama2_48714140956_o img_1695_36861635421_o untitled_pnorama1_43969649045_o img_1388_36849704982_o img_9487_42792483980_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-9_31980778692_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_0726_36479651235_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354074993_o img_9930_36082749120_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37168276355_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-96_25326898449_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26405524440_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26154507635_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24619511350_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-8bn_21228484772_o a-dsc_5864_19430230982_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_5909_19248927060_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-03_15513094471_o img_2712_25133889822_o 2g9a0147_26882584271_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26387593305_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
