A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-748_22555825120_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival31_14981751600_o img_5255_33634011703_o 2019-Leonardo-da-Vinci henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201433_15003558023_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002502598_o 2g9a0891_48805746678_o strongmen-201308_10019430943_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976577625_o 2g9a1096_48951597473_o entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-marcos-moreno-5_11213352993_o 2g9a1974_49048523953_o 2g9a8775_48826625196_o img_8581_38737100725_o Punta-Europa-22 img_5025_48919067793_o img_4624_48713815138_o 2g9a8339_32759671438_o img_3866_30891441457_o 20171214_094516_39025535122_o r3wire-varski-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-14_44163881184_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-45_31531497552_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-17_25566929027_o img_0125_36082727340_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36996841882_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31349011401_o 2g9a5055_30872848781_o 2g9a9458_29192808720_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799754666_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26088169901_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-7_24847785431_o img_7870_23580018073_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
