paisajes-la-bahia-gibraltar-03_9225017740_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20150911_151747393_ios_22743905015_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 4-oct-2017-cm-y-representantes-de-gibraltar-en-cuarta-comisin-de-naciones-unidas-6_23803453418_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-15_19468678803_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-hollie-buhagiar_9699741407_o festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar-25102014-33_15444324099_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival39_14277944388_o img_0504_22917035675_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742373543_o img_4647_32242474238_o 7u3a9494_49597578211_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-27_19720497008_o 2g9a4908_48874962841_o gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-06_12865040604_o 2g9a0923_48806238762_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-01_9224811070_o img_9644_40316197620_o img_6530_38924355214_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-4 royal-engineers-2_25762658148_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131073431_o img_2989_44603357891_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131075096_o 7U3A2462 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-16_47644435012_o img_5314_40516047320_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_41488509094_o 104968_29388299152_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978713276_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201459_15789737016_o img_3780_36765414540_o 2g9a2015_27205710586_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
