181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto 7u3a9845_50032742426_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. la-reina-isabel-ii-visit-gibraltar-en-1954-desde-este-punto-contempl-las-vistas-que-se-disfrutan-desde-la-parte-alta-del-pen_22117034024_o laciudaddegibraltar gibraltar-en-el-cuarto-comit-de-la-onu_30271420747_o concierto-de-albert-hammond-7-noviembre-201410_15118348054_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23029449130_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0226_15416895646_o 2g9a0845_48805745823_o 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho06_14311154114_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16199285850_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-13_13967070389_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-14_13967064267_o Monos-28 main-street-10_25762497288_o P1080798 gibraltar-regiment-3_38925519604_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153217_o img_5075_48919600196_o img_3924_45781938772_o img_1488_43916117684_o img_1727_36605156140_o img_3137_39128148330_o img_1742_36830787702_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-25_31754392720_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-120_38547058011_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31427013186_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-22_31562038491_o 2g9a6118_31077414306_o_31114932055_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-32_31677588095_o 2g9a5121_30844736752_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354094083_o 2g9a5356_30872846601_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770650640_o 126766_29207832040_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026139631_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834024255_o img_1651_36764786450_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417177485_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
