181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto img_8425_20084546825_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. skywalk-gibraltar-10-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367547850_o img_8447_19896553330_o gibraltar-cuenta-con-una-importante-red-de-autobuses-urbanos-para-su-reducido-tamao-y-son-una-forma-ptima-y-barata-de-desplazarse-por-todo-el-pen_22714502166_o 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar06_14731888030_o concierto-de-albert-hammond-7-noviembre-201409_15553116737_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-26_17176718748_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0072-bw_15416887626_o entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-2_11213198355_o img_0802_21597290925_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente22_12249489354_o strongmen-201384_10018789894_o img_4088_20920005248_o 7u3a5733_49425345263_o img_0135_43781187971_o changing-of-the-guard-the-convent-0425_39633949901_o img_9683_21452159422_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-22 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131072571_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131101253_o 2g9a6750-copy_48204160647_o 2g9a5380_48726175746_o 2g9a5968_48204605016_o dscf7903_30729837628_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-28_47697574381_o dscf7934_30732456038_o img_9490_44550410832_o 20171214_163809_24195066997_o img_2396_43726224855_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-52_28981293423_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-102_29494991242_o 2g9a7435_29797984576_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417182495_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-40 img_3266_27596445770_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
