He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii31_21190233916_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii72_21224326371_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-29_29360135941_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0099_15439634712_o img_9886_21441950906_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho05_14316109535_o strongmen-201384_10018789894_o commonwealth-park-17_24765491067_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-1 2g9a4285_48230652821_o img_5390_48919603536_o img_0279-1_45106517334_o img_1642_43726050505_o nova-twins-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-118_43072418870_o img_7258_34614714372_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_41488508274_o img_7269_34736879406_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-115_26771239399_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-44_31992468222_o img_9515_35361471644_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-79_29494973792_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-19_37148806825_o_37027015991_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-13_25326958979_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354093173_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-24_30790955941_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959238345_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29455746672_o 129097_28874477453_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-9 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25466666166_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27556204610_o 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho12_14125125990_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
