181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23634142045_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. inmaculada-fotos-23112014-10_15473742663_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-10_19468690063_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-21_19901704560_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-emili-sande_9703006280_o nolan-frendo-gibraltar-primer-puesto_14034232762_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival23_14277962138_o img_8949_19954763830_o 2g9a2989_49093919253_o MM180007 sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002356088_o img_0786_21605784301_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente12_12249071185_o Juan-Franco-izquierda-y-Fabian-Picardo-derecha-se-saludan-en-La-Linea img_9413_27252744117_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876308421_o img_0095_43733179302_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-01_19721865789_o 2g9a2538_49086661552_o img_0653_38737101585_o WP_20140508_025 1_Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-7 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-26 img_1031_36599991866_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153487_o img_9966_27319556317_o img_7983_42792487500_o img_0764_39737056895_o img_9052_38333203782_o_38310542916_o 2g9a5362_30660215730_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-66_30927248186_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354071893_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939772054_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27319188402_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24124234991_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
