A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-664_22120681504_o img_3737_34086396972_o img_4805_26995115337_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-gabrielle-aplin_9699744383_o img_8776_20115367256_o img_8787_19953523938_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_5226_34284271002_o img_9872_21280341118_o 7u3a9590_49901121177_o 2g9a1986_49048520743_o 2g9a8801_48826623421_o P1080705 police-1_39604052952_o img_5162_48919068598_o img_9536_44600532311_o img_0184_28318282708_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_1159_36861637871_o img_1544_36880217711_o img_3549_34196604076_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-19_32022612661_o img_0222_36311278632_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-6_29314690470_o 2g9a5916_30999441671_o_31001133401_o img_3808_37163046125_o 2g9a5118_22782641768_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-28_30874575701_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-45_30828723951_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29845566572_o 117229_29462646036_o img_5066_29192366000_o img_5146_28857388173_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26062049432_o fabin-picardo-en-la-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23578624704_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-12bn_21052079579_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201421_15628568160_o img_2112_27703096215_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3806_17816616490_o 1_7U3A4587 7U3A4823 7u3a6928_51342923593_o Joe-Bossano-3 Salva de cañones hms-sabre-8-royal-navy_48859711256_o
