A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. restauracin-cementerio-witham-18_25477581305_o bunkering-_9225010784_o 2g9a9330_48908300217_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23266202179_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703047066_o foot-01_17495553878_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-12_17364489585_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii32_21029675689_o img_5314_34284315472_o 2019-International-Womens-Day img_2710_45564865711_o img_4282_20920810299_o 2g9a1985_49049233777_o img_4502_48826817602_o P1080672 Mezquita-29 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-34 img_4066_48699321853_o img_5373_48919072188_o 7U3A2454 img_3123_40937797661_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_28112276699_o img_7288_33935380434_o 2g9a6143_31077394946_o_31001137941_o 11-de-noviembre-2016-concurso-cyber-centurion-en-gibraltar-14_30800465372_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-1_30879413235_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941947603_o 107059_29207864340_o 2g9a9287_29448083586_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-05_23129304099_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
