181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto sector-juego-online-ladboke-gibraltar-04_9222288591_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Line Wall Road Polling station where tensions were high at one point this morning) - Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. restauracin-cementerio-witham-29_25477575695_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-80_22745525755_o 4-oct-2017-cm-y-representantes-de-gibraltar-en-cuarta-comisin-de-naciones-unidas-12_37398295650_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23216851922_o img_0474_44296997650_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar15_10382450554_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25244580544_o img_1821_31692340728_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-00_9224806444_o jews-gate-cemetery-0489_24765624257_o st-michaels-cave-25_38737333135_o 2g9a5346_48725846883_o img_4976_48919598056_o img_5054_48919806732_o img_4703_48714145051_o 2g9a8403_46634155451_o r3wire-varski-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-13_31011423688_o 20171214_111115_38346075574_o img_9562_29664840937_o img_4638_23521812868_o img_3047_26064774667_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-12_32010696931_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-167_24674702868_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-16_31331051943_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_0476_36342234491_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354051213_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_30656124643_o 2g9a5396_30660430600_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-82_30661165880_o 2g9a4556_30879147656_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29484969391_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-15 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26405547700_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26652388596_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-8_24941102645_o a-dsc_5319_19436635795_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-19_15599638794_o img_9241_25957183553_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-73_21112529100_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
