A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_3432_34243088545_o img_0295_45389524294_o img_9923_43872623862_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-emili-sande_9703007570_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_0743_20974178304_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25244583314_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_25004392937_o img_2673_45564845121_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-29_13967046937_o 2g9a0422_48800936828_o strongmen-201312_10019332796_o 2g9a0869_48805745493_o 2g9a8830_48826252508_o la-tv-alemana-zdf-graba-un-reportaje-en-gibraltar-michael-petch-zdf_25938054742_o taxi-3_38736801535_o 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-12_16265134410_o 2g9a5370_48726351532_o img_9690_21275075720_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131157187_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114498408_o img_5120_48919069773_o 2g9a5922_48204606271_o img_5374_48919072148_o img_4516_48714143546_o 20171214_121535_27279177369_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-22_47644436052_o img_8721_39877397052_o img_1518_36213021323_o 24-04-2017-desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-de-los-royal-engineers-7_34113616621_o 2g9a4625_30827329271_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-92 a-dsc_5939_18815861413_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
