nueva-ruta-area-gibraltar-manchester_28082174085_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Commissioner of police at Town Range Polling Station as he oversees security) Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. la-marina-de-ocean-village-en-gibraltar_22740531875_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-310_22719197946_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23525562822_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23551678971_o img_0046_43921147401_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival06_14981555349_o img_5173_34284279892_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_24862361154_o 2535DB1 7u3a9447_49597080888_o 2g9a1078_48952141496_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_27712734998_o img_8444_24765364217_o 2g9a3010_49093921918_o WP_20140508_024 sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002404168_o 2g9a0582_48919597186_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-37_37398190510_o img_1413_44585039292_o 1_img_0067_43733187372_o 2g9a9461_31505852364_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-94_38490781956_o img_0557_35671100963_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_28112284069_o 2g9a6049_31113406825_o_31001129811_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354048853_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-41_30927266706_o 2g9a4562_30915067085_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25399965241_o img_5296_28856951033_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-30_21000567869_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-76_20564673204_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening 10-may-2014-relevo-del-bastn-de-la-reina-de-los-juegos-de-la-commonwealth_14165027562_o img_9217_25955136754_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26387589195_o img_2700_24621538754_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-78_21113722349_o img_7655_20676033134_o img_8026_20677369703_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day44_15201114572_o BP200031 BP200031 BP200031 fabian-picardo1_9939615874_o MX160021 royal-gibraltar-police-2-sir-john-chapple_48859907047_o
