Accesibilidad a las playas de Gibraltar 2g9a9339_48908299872_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. panormica-de-la-plaza-de-casemates-de-gibraltar-al-fondo-el-pen_22119569573_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-168_22124295853_o COLA GIBRALTAR img_3402_34112865801_o Gibraltar - Drivers wait for hours to cross border img_4883_41820479742_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival42_14981650799_o 3_35347375560_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-29_29360135941_o 2g9a4925_48875162927_o 2g9a0278_48801281251_o 2g9a3019_49094441781_o 2g9a0579_48801429447_o entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-28_11213202745_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876185441_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-02_9224810194_o img_0111_29910409648_o 2g9a2591_49086447311_o 7u3a5821_49425351433_o Monos-50 P1080639 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-4 2g9a2080_48706249571_o 2g9a4497_48714307792_o dscf7927_43693499555_o img_9556_44550413582_o pan-11_34776860145_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163382842_o img_0509_36082687120_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36331786984_o 2g9a9154_29519595894_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-76_29495004612_o 2g9a5188_22782815758_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-13_30247385894_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959237155_o 2g9a9786_29372688612_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
