el-parque-de-la-commonwealth-de-gibraltar_22117453034_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23551779011_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-olly-murs_9699873395_o img_9032_20134641472_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-6_29331870192_o 1_35347375150_o 2013-Christmas 2g9a0300_48801426847_o img_9764_21457259852_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-31_19287584903_o img_4243_20485038704_o Mezquita-6 img_0147_41972510180_o Punta-Europa-25 shipping-9_39632708821_o 2g9a0644_48919807122_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114554882_o 2g9a4556_48713813018_o img_4899_48919805767_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131161872_o img_4726_48714144931_o img_3224_40895452162_o img_9795_44830682372_o img_5430_42322426341_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-156_24674707698_o img_8652_39910045081_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-20_36750959710_o_36354890713_o 2g9a6144_30746388380_o_31114931475_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354077903_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-50_30661180210_o 2g9a9349_29447974956_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25551863003_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-2_24941103815_o 2g9a9671_27839953626_o 27205708896_d46be6c7ac_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. rueda-de-prensa-de-fabin-picardo-y-joseph-garca-en-bruselas_26614257874_o img_3714_20736451070_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
