default Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-music-festival-2013-10cc_9703027244_o colas-frontera-2-abril-2014-infogibraltar-fotgrafo-marcos-moreno_13598468303_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival39_14277745239_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-46_9222694453_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25400097571_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-97_29151382540_o img_0647_21596926225_o 7u3a6464_49454013508_o img_9902_21281251049_o intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_41086233610_o partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-13_14732691056_o The Anniversary of The Battle Of Trafalgar, An act of remembrance held within The Trafalgar Cemetery Gibraltar, Sunday 18th October 2015.VIP's included Interim Governor, Chief Minister, 2nd Sea Lord and CBF. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a0306_26345444944_o 2015_09_14__0195_21432174621_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-41_17807379738_o 1_7U3A4645 2g9a8804_51680451267_o fabian-picardo5_9939699853_o fabin-picardo-ministro-principal-gibraltar-09_9225024820_o
