A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. colas-de-salida-26-01-15_15756889984_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16193112519_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-emili-sande_9699782507_o img_9939_28984586517_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-10_17176691428_o Gibraltar - Albert Hammonds in Concert img_5238_33634014233_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-6_24793081170_o 7u3a9405_49597579341_o img_6769_35502345856_o img_0664_21409893809_o img_6581_35154403340_o university-4_39633682981_o img_0818_21409371238_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-22_31742541243_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-15_37398193500_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-14_19721809279_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976643075_o Monos-45 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-13_16266652797_o reenactment_39603718062_o 1_img_0098_42877256075_o img_1186_36605138130_o 2g9a5935_48204606191_o img_3231_40895450802_o img_2401-2_44585525912_o dementia-day-centre-panorama3_32228020981_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-8_32102451796_o 2g9a5307_22783053368_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-56_25326925669_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026134261_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-71_25326916309_o 2g9a7181_29207199593_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9712_27874054475_o 2015_09_14__0207_21236827179_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
