181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto img_8538_20084701645_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. monos-zona-alta-del-pen-con-turistas-10_9222298453_o vista-ara-de-las-colas-de-acceso-a-gibraltar_9460823646_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23216999332_o img_3750_34086393702_o img_4835_41820472812_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival17_14981888208_o img_9975_43202807274_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii88_21205969132_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-27_29360139141_o img_6709_35154396580_o hospital-de-campaa_49726264848_o festival-literario-gibraltar09_10496929505_o 2g9a8346_48875081651_o 2012-Royal-Visit-of-TRH-The-Earl-Countess-of-Wessex 2g9a0675_48806098961_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-11_19563737932_o Los-gibraltarenos-marcharon-hasta-la-frontera-la-noche-del-cierre.-Portaban-la-Union-Jack-y-entonaban-el-himno-britanico.-Fotografia-de-la-exposicion-‘Closure. 2g9a8817_48826622181_o 7u3a5220_49336913867_o gib-view-1_38737087565_o Alameda-12 2g9a0575_48919597231_o 2g9a6749_48204162197_o img_0744_39737059525_o img_4731_48714144876_o img_9122_26588973269_o_26590180889_o 24-04-2017-desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-de-los-royal-engineers-7_34113616621_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-35_30927270776_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-17_30790962351_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770641330_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-38_24914824596_o img_3804_36326669504_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-16_22870114623_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
