el-pen-de-gibraltar_22116545204_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. colas-coches-gibraltar-febrero-2014-7_12614288325_o img_0361_45389520834_o img_0463_45202132605_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez16_12102163113_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-37_9225462516_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703093690_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-14_29439882075_o Endangered-Animals 2g9a0349_48801427422_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente18_12249238603_o 2g9a0974_48805746868_o strongmen-201335_10019267813_o festival-literario-gibraltar01_10497198563_o 7u3a9620_49900813301_o 7u3a9643_49900813071_o img_5752_49085935083_o jews-gate-cemetery-0492_39603829062_o P1080671 Mezquita-37 P1080703 2g9a2129_48706248181_o gib-calling_panorama-10_48705912243_o img_5374_48919072148_o 2g9a0672_48919595861_o img_8995_26588603349_o_26590189039_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402220950_o img_9092_38333502812_o_24494940788_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402219340_o img_0664_36082750900_o img_0170_28318285958_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_32610430182_o untitled_panorama1_36326678104_o 2g9a6022_30306929603_o_31001130731_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-27_25326948649_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-34_25326941899_o 2g9a4493_30798997122_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-14_30578375130_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-35_30843308786_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26088168001_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-7bn_21238932625_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde06_13581151065_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 23-jun-2016-votacin-en-gibraltar-referndum-sobre-la-permanencia-del-ru-en-la-ue-3_27241872494_o img_9064_24481611945_o HMS Prince of Wales en Gibraltar 2g9a8731_51681914979_o UK Minister leads European Election campaign for Liberals in Gibraltar
