A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños el-remodelado-rock-hotel-que-ha-albergado-a-grandes-personalidades-de-la-poltica-o-el-cine_22117779114_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-310_22719197946_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. Cross border residents whose children attend local schools were caught up in the latest targetted delays by the Spanish border controls with calls of "descrimination" made by some of those waiting to cross into Spain as delays seemed to target school children crossing times. fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-31_17338554426_o img_8865_20141460565_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii73_21028281910_o img_5277_34402476636_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002356088_o 7u3a9427_49597828562_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-32_13967048519_o 2g9a0919_48806101261_o strongmen-201381_10018865305_o img_9506_41403112904_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-8 img_0131_28844746637_o 2g9a4230_48230715447_o 2g9a2044_49049027136_o img_3960_45831064451_o img_9355_31008101638_o img_9944_27319561617_o img_9092_38333502812_o_24494940788_o img_7234_34776978685_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-10_31299674934_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-28_30846299522_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026135641_o 102923_29388300872_o img_5336_29370336352_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834022325_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-71 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24547370469_o 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-09_16195950506_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9709_27596454650_o img_3312_27596440640_o img_2889_25133515222_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-76_9291731170_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-04_9289390959_o img_2919_21772863472_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-16_9224821622_o img_8610_21295346086_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3787_18005031401_o 7U3A4824 img_8845_50855055583_o 24 2g9a8794_51680451367_o
