conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_38590496000_o 2g9a9882_48907304088_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16191934570_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22696908384_o img_0447_32242171468_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez19_12102536916_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703086528_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-46_28818208003_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-31_24457973174_o 2017-WWF-Bats-of-Gibraltar regiment-freedom-of-city-0118_15439633672_o img_0662_20975711083_o img_9943_21441879686_o 2g9a4925_48875162927_o 2g9a0959_48806101981_o festival-literario-gibraltar24_10496810756_o la-tv-alemana-zdf-graba-un-reportaje-en-gibraltar-michael-petch-zdf_25938054292_o 2012-Titanic-Centenary-1912-2012 img_0055_41972489800_o 7u3a0067_50032693926_o 7u3a0102_50032156358_o 2g9a1986_49048520743_o cruise-liners-15_38737422295_o main-street-2412_27854807419_o img_1922_27856026519_o Punta-Europa-10 img_5369_48919072278_o 2g9a8342_46581729712_o img_9445_29664841817_o 20171214_112054_38346075084_o img_9454_44600536421_o img_8955_38363726131_o_38310547566_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163382962_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31920712944_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-119_38515437272_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-54_28979561854_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354088643_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-17_30874582671_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978705546_o 2g9a7430_29205975844_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37168276155_o 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-25_19342628343_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201416_15789743306_o img_3021_21596291898_o 2g9a0162_26346466583_o img_8639_40_41_fused_tonemapped_21321584055_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24470801256_o El-Real-Regimiento-de-Gibraltar-actua-de-nuevo-como-Regimiento-de-Guardia-de-la-Reina-en-Londres-29
