181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. restauracin-cementerio-witham-15_25477582715_o bateras-de-defensa-del-siglo-xviii-se-combinan-con-modernos-desarrollos-urbansticos-en-la-ciudad-de-gibraltar_22726532912_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. charo-lpez-la-lnea-de-la-concepcin-espaa-segundo-premio_14029794282_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival07_14441263236_o foot-03_17680853852_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii70_21029588789_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-18_24398430515_o gibraltar-eslovaquia12_10967499646_o strongmen-201368_10019056373_o img_4263_21097539372_o 7u3a5102_49336690866_o cruise-liners-8_39603810152_o img_4852-after_25762298068_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-26_32090611536_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-8_32754310667_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-37_31562033261_o img_8256_44550426652_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-81_29495002152_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-72_38547077171_o 2g9a5172_30961449105_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-5_38627529170_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-35 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978712796_o 000-a-dsc_6125_19436713985_o 17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32368143555_o 2g9a9741_27874083955_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_25784870443_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26387589195_o 2g9a1678_26964557600_o 2g9a0236_26346423543_o 2015_09_14__0216_20800991664_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
