160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_44604704645_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_8462_19461974164_o img_0051_43202819314_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival27_14463414014_o img_5344_33634011173_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742375143_o HMS-Forth-7 img_0727_21409159238_o 2g9a0471_26246322474_o 2g9a0556_26757785812_o 2g9a0608_26817576496_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976733835_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_003_12193958386_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-08_9222038823_o 7u3a9587_49900813411_o img_5858_49086445046_o Monos-36 img_9639_39633864651_o img_2781_38737251845_o Punta-Europa-12 commonwealth-park-19_39633648071_o panorama-17_24765517427_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-28_47697574381_o img_3358_40937363131_o img_9450_42792484310_o img_9182_38333660752_o_38334711752_o img_0138_36311380532_o img_0142_36311384942_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026155741_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-20_29570799416_o 2g9a6073_31113396335_o_31078854966_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-37_25326939909_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29455745962_o 110930_29207858730_o img_9511_26493013171_o img_9586_26466648232_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-71bn_21051010038_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
