Vistas de Gibraltar img_4003_15641881983_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. img_3745_34086394672_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival10_14277908057_o 2g9a0545_26757804132_o lema-stay-at-home-stay-safe_49846306238_o strongmen-201320_10019229124_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48721053202_o img_4198_20485083844_o 2g9a0433_48801282796_o 2g9a2021_49048528688_o 2g9a2029_49048528063_o jews-gate-cemetery-0489_24765624257_o evacuation-monument-0484_24765697027_o 2g9a4234_48230644286_o img_8164_30729846708_o img_0684_39910036701_o img_8689_28129712759_o img_8926_38363789151_o_37651627074_o img_4633_37373697441_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-9_32141137715_o img_0495_35671083973_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-37_29495042202_o 2g9a6068_31113399075_o_31078855176_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-56_25326925669_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-1_30927298886_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-36_30927351356_o 2g9a9482_29192800700_o 2g9a9771_29401383931_o 87824_28871965894_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27222138773_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417181165_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-14_26935102185_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-83 Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
