Vistas de Gibraltar manifestacin-por-una-frontera-humanitaria-07_12360454234_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. restauracin-cementerio-witham-17_25384709211_o cueva-de-st-michael-gibraltar_22557751520_o 20-agosto-2014-colas-de-salida-de-gibraltar13_14964628096_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 gibraltar-music-festival-2013-level-42_9699898675_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii81_21190115726_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-68_28815977444_o img_0504_22917035675_o 2017-HMS-Gibraltar-set img_0510_22498866888_o 2g9a0934_48805747468_o 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho06_14311154114_o strongmen-201313_10019404803_o 7u3a5079_49336224918_o img_0188_41972496210_o 2g9a2055_49049238182_o evacuation-monument-0487_27856103119_o 2g9a4233_48230715052_o img_5115_48919807667_o img_5415_48919811052_o img_3358_40937363131_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_39182283384_o img_9092_38333502812_o_24494940788_o img_3560_34196603126_o 2g9a9407_32228028261_o img_9490_35393043563_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-42_30879560905_o 2g9a7452_29540586250_o img_5072-copy_29480900075_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26074948123_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
