Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. los-macacos-en-libertad-en-el-pen-de-gibraltar-son-divertidos-pero-alimentarlos-est-penado_22713469506_o colas-frontera-diciembre05_12348629435_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_15756889984_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868058131_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-32_28816044774_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-44_28818214903_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-91_29360016551_o img_6758_35502347606_o img_2599_44650702245_o 2g9a0736_48805743973_o img_2623_44650699515_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16360706966_o 26-julio-2014-partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-01_14755670885_o strongmen-201381_10018865305_o img_4204_20486612243_o Mezquita-17 plaza-de-la-verdura-1_27855773429_o img_9665_31008294618_o img_1416_44635135751_o img_8026_30732455318_o img_1427_44635127311_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_8994_26588613049_o_38310545766_o img_8995_26588603349_o_26590189039_o img_9096_26589053319_o_26590182769_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-23_37148806115_o_37027015361_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-54_28979561854_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354070573_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-92_22784238698_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026136121_o 2g9a9283_29448087646_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25125252519_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-10_20999200180_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-16_15171098699_o 2g9a0187_26882447291_o img_9087_25955087744_o 2g9a1614_26964556140_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_25920754483_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-01_9292192484_o img_2907_21163491093_o 2015_09_14__0022_21236244578_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4180_18001014222_o 9-mayo-2014-visita-a-gibraltar-del-secretario-de-estado-britnico-daniel-alexander-con-ocasin-del-da-de-europa_14164926931_o BP200031
