A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-19_9222318607_o 2g9a9882_48907304088_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-615_22555025350_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-267_22557372440_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22696983974_o img_4871_27994659048_o img_4885_27994663318_o img_0090_43202785794_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-texas_9703037170_o foot-04_17683449071_o img_5152_34402436316_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-22_25062325116_o img_5173_34284279892_o 2g9a0464_48801430027_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-11_32513495606_o El-periodico-‘Gibraltar-Evening-Post-mostro-su-preocupacion-sobre-una-posible-guerra-con-motivo-de-la-disputa-sobre-Gibraltar.-Exposicion-‘Closure. 7u3a5727_49425815011_o p1010490_48826817942_o Trafalgar-3 2g9a2052_48706413262_o 2g9a4216_48230717447_o 2g9a4218_48230716807_o img_0288-1_30891437587_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114555172_o img_9660_29944609347_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-22_47644436052_o img_5433_41421429795_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-77_29524294411_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565280515_o 110930_29207858730_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-79 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26613213141_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26074984063_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
