180607 - Gibraltar realiza trabajos en enclaves y en el litoral sector-juego-online-ladboke-gibraltar-03_9225057582_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_45518758841_o 20150911_152239812_ios_22556103830_o img_4011_16075876857_o img_0022_43202810694_o img_0041_43921148921_o img_9919_21280098020_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-yasmin-levy-mediterranean-andalusian-orchestra-ashkelon-33_9225505310_o 2g9a2995_49093919133_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-22_28818272743_o gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-08_12864685853_o img_2701_44839793904_o img_9573_42077112542_o 2g9a0849_48806238492_o 7u3a5201_49336911672_o img_9701_20840408884_o Mezquita-6 commonwealth-park-12_38925458284_o img_5223_48919600456_o img_5365_48919809932_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31949828063_o mf1_44830656812_o 2g9a5884_30746417400_o_31001134981_o img_9562_29664840937_o 2g9a5269_25325643969_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42209194681_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-26_30763271692_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-79_26771253999_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275184030_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-113_38547062931_o 98812_29416767861_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-138_24674711168_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27732843452_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-17_25566929027_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834022655_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026139631_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-51_20566240653_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-119_29494982332_o a-dsc_5692_19410489196_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
