A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. esculturas-humanas-en-la-plaza-de-casemates-en-gibraltar_22117531354_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-719_22555873990_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-364_22745084275_o 1_discurso-del-ministro-principal-en-la-cuarta-comisin-de-la-asamblea-general-de-la-organizacin-de-naciones-unidas_30119940605_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16193130259_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16379344415_o img_9351_28984555297_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii36_21028565388_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-89_29360020571_o img_5233_34284269572_o img_2609_45564828271_o repatriacin-de-nacionales-britnicos-desde-marruecos-covid-19_49870139223_o 2g9a0297_48800934813_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201401_15437071009_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-20_19721873509_o 2g9a0949_48806102211_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-22_19285909334_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_15764245754_o img_4192_20920910519_o 1_img_0101_29910411388_o img_9674_42123216141_o 2g9a2558_49086448071_o 2g9a2568_49086447926_o img_1686_37002120895_o img_1413_44585039292_o img_2377_26972659898_o img_8791_38334295032_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-40_29605135895_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354051073_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-41_30843306206_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959239125_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27222138993_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25881623510_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_0247_19440895811_o 000-a-dsc_6083_18813941704_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-30_15493074346_o 2g9a9344_27798145511_o img_5958_25372598094_o img_2974_24883618449_o img_8728_24398183631_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
