A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cola-peatonal-salida-de-gibraltar-23072015-03_19963911885_o img_3353_33432738523_o img_0457_46063480522_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival13_14278107907_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 7u3a9336_49597579886_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25248542833_o img_6782_34732168863_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-17_29439875415_o 2015-RAF-Squadrons-IV-2 img_2726_44839806024_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48721053592_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-21_19544475136_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16386706775_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-24_14130542366_o strongman-en-casemates_9997661954_o 2g9a3957_49336690441_o taxi-2_25761854238_o 2g9a2047_48705913448_o img_1427_44635127311_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402219940_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-103_29494973242_o img_0132_40383723260_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-117_29494983642_o img_2113_36765420450_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318393422_o img_2136_36349095513_o 2g9a4610_30827330941_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-6_30243942163_o 103231_29388300332_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29845564012_o 123605_29462634486_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27556205220_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23578622564_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-23bn_21052076599_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-13_15516254545_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. img_9060_24112902739_o DEF4F61 gibraltar-national-day_005_9716546045_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day19_15014879350_o HMS-Dasher RFA-Lyme-Bay-y-HMS-Pursuer-Gib Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-51-Samantha-Sacramento-Ministra-de-Igualdad
