A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_8490_19463661283_o inmaculada-fotos-23112014-06_15471105334_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival53_15167947472_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 img_0472_45202130235_o img_1821_31692340728_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions university-28_38925363414_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-1_28816115154_o 2535DB1 2g9a0217_48801426492_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-18_19563794762_o 2g9a0372_48801428312_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-13_9222042473_o strongmen-201371_10018937715_o 7u3a5209_49336225313_o WP_20140508_024 P1080702 university-1_39633684111_o 2g9a4713_48717217248_o img_0286_45831068691_o img_4518_48714309457_o img_4079_31960328568_o img_8158_44550428232_o img_1667_30765323508_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-101_37830945934_o img_2317_29697091487_o img_2144_36991653492_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-50_28979563664_o 2g9a5196_30873092651_o 104968_29388299152_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-87 Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
