A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_8490_19463661283_o 20150911_132846516_ios_22717070536_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez21_12102528806_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez23_12102521446_o 7u3a9390_49597579546_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 2g9a0459_26247307513_o 2g9a4908_48874962841_o 2g9a0210_48801280746_o 2g9a0868_48806238322_o 7u3a5102_49336690866_o cruise-liners-15_38737422295_o Mezquita-8 P1080677 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114499018_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131075096_o img_1466_44585017572_o 2g9a4499_48714307747_o img_9963_41290383175_o 2g9a6815_48204069306_o img_8926_38363789151_o_37651627074_o 2g9a4691_48713814358_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31949828283_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-30_33820114128_o 2g9a5978_30746315560_o_31001131821_o img_1727_36605156140_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-2_30843124176_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-19_30247382304_o img_5068-copy_29192350980_o img_5257_29190529890_o 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-20_19340909114_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
