A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9699935455_o 2015-Penny-Black-175th-Anniversary gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-32_9225457518_o 25-JUN2 la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_24190848200_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_007_12193590813_o default gibraltar-eslovaquia17_10967496046_o img_0809_21571032496_o strongmen-201349_10019090915_o 2g9a0387_48801282061_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-2 sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002340068_o Punta-Europa-15 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131099058_o 2g9a6775-copy_48204115457_o img_4547_48713813908_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-5_31288265534_o img_5400_41421459905_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-58_25326924399_o img_2100_36349107473_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-17_30846310952_o img_2160_36973622246_o 11-de-noviembre-2016-concurso-cyber-centurion-en-gibraltar-12_30800466302_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26074984063_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25549743524_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24288112613_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_0256_19430366702_o 2g9a9621_27839969556_o img_2924_25251472095_o 2g9a0171_26882523611_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-56_9291877348_o img_3837_20301799884_o img_3723_20301904004_o img_8275_21306442091_o Portaaviones HMS Queen Elizabeth en Gibraltar 7U3A4792 1_2G9A0466 img_4430_19917986233_o 29.2-2021 Remembrance-Sunday-2022-1
