westside_48248334627_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_3360_34112847401_o img_3732_34086398822_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-emili-sande_9699775293_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-15_9225441536_o festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar-25102014-34_15630976695_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival11_14277869149_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii36_21028565388_o Monete-pequenin commonwealth-park-16_39603949822_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-41_25062302416_o 2g9a4273_48230654131_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201425_15600044446_o 2g9a6827_48204069506_o img_5337_48919072903_o img_0279-1_45106517334_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-18_47644436292_o img_1499_29696600117_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-151_37830944584_o img_0816_39910044121_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-15_38627528190_o 2g9a5840_31113341665_o_31001136261_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-20_38627527470_o 2g9a4637_30879135326_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959245905_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27758097151_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-18 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-17_25961766330_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26128564246_o a-dsc_6034_19436444675_o 2g9a9638_27596424500_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off img_2133_27424749470_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 2g9a1651_26964555920_o Miss Gibraltar 2014 2g9a2024_26964556450_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26321399981_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26387572985_o img_1461_24610162939_o img_3958_20437493264_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-13_9292107266_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno29_10967095185_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-53_9291892974_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-70_21300619945_o BP200031
