Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_45467534112_o gibraltar_22119365263_o monos-en-la-ciudad-14_9225081728_o img_0357_45389521334_o img_0063_43016090325_o img_0416_44297004480_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-mark-eliyahu-ensemble-15_9225485712_o img_0511_45389671994_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-15_9225441536_o img_9992_43202806454_o img_6607_34732161753_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-14_25062335876_o img_2618_44650700265_o 2014-Dolphins-of-Gibraltar img_9918_21468139005_o img_4638_31174604217_o Punta-Europa-4 2g9a0432_48800936648_o img_5293_48919071333_o img_9606_41403086564_o img_1746_43726062115_o img_9723_21276164699_o img_9944_27319561617_o img_9063_38363838051_o_38310542036_o img_1460_36213076273_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354089003_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-15_22784345138_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354092953_o 2g9a9534_28856829724_o untitled_panorama2_36764784300_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565280265_o img_5341_29370326192_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23580012303_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-20_21187323645_o The Gibraltar Music Festival visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26250740340_o img_2731_25252290305_o 2015_09_14__0050_21236166178_o 2015_09_14__0216_20800991664_o Gibraltar, 25 septiembre 2013.
