A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0041_43921148921_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-34_9222686317_o img_9065_19955963649_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-73_28815961804_o hospital-de-campaa_49726814116_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_27712734298_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201437_15623712505_o img_4709_44297336680_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165178154_o changing-of-the-guard-the-convent-0423_39633954281_o P1080608 royal-engineers-1_39633211141_o 2g9a4289_48230651791_o img_4602_48714144161_o img_5356_48919810192_o img_1796_36605215030_o img_1919_40128321214_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-188_37830944154_o img_0830_26036946288_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-17_31992470462_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770641330_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770648960_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-20_29570799416_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_32722812986_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-126_29494977122_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-40_30927218946_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-77_30927239686_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876089271_o 2g9a9700_28859240913_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27222138023_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799730216_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799738036_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24206821945_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-20_22868950694_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-09_9289356917_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
