A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar-25102014-25_15630988595_o concierto-de-albert-hammond-7-noviembre-201407_15739843512_o hospital-de-campaa_49726813906_o 7u3a9373_49597828977_o 2015-Gibraltar-Year-of-the-Goat 2014-Dolphins-of-Gibraltar 2017-Europa-Castles-set 2019-International-Womens-Day img_0559_22891140816_o img_0754_21410029399_o 2g9a0588_26817594536_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16385774562_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-02_9224810194_o 7u3a9664_49900812916_o 2g9a8838_48826783472_o 2g9a2002_49049229847_o dscf7841_43690946415_o 2g9a0705_48919598711_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31427019546_o 2g9a4643_48714308962_o 2g9a6019_31077509056_o_31078855696_o actividades-paralelas-al-open-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_32651761486_o 2g9a6104_30306720053_o_31001128131_o img_2180_36991639712_o 2g9a9482_29192800700_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939791244_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941931353_o img_5192_29479184095_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-48_20566244183_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417189105_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-20_15943923715_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-13_15171143560_o Calentita Night 2014 investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde05_13581211733_o img_2187_27090572484_o img_2763_24956656530_o 2g9a2119_26635255224_o 2g9a0162_26346466583_o img_9214_26534120516_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
