A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_3404_33432755993_o img_4879_41146197544_o img_0462_46063479882_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival39_14981811798_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii75_20595250093_o 2016-UNESCO-Gorhams-Cave-Complex 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-20_28818275433_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-25_19574912381_o 7u3a9453_49597080878_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16386704615_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-19_32513498166_o 1_img_0061_41972488620_o img_9687_21276231879_o 7u3a9982_50032885307_o 2g9a1102_48952339342_o 7u3a5826_49426047312_o 2g9a8805_48826778687_o img_3541_39603140302_o main-street-0437_24765661627_o 2g9a5380_48726175746_o 2g9a0611_48919804882_o img_3251_40043115035_o img_4542_48713813948_o img_9058_38363878311_o_37651622304_o img_0704_35671153383_o img_2307_37163012995_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-74_29495007012_o 2g9a5870_31077422446_o_31001135451_o 2g9a5899_30306647673_o_31114929795_o 2g9a5329_25325834499_o 2g9a7452_29540586250_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939785774_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_26808901514_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_5456_19250453419_o img_3305_27839987876_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26431288422_o img_9046_24399224261_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-54_9291887936_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-12_9222043153_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day64_15201453725_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day05_15014642659_o BP200031 033_20318167751_o
