181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto restauracin-cementerio-witham-30_25451432676_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cola-vehiculos-dentro-de-gibraltar-02_9225068272_o 2g9a9971_48907837826_o img_3326_34202601286_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival14_14277902827_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_5335_34313414461_o hospital-de-campaa_49726813671_o intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_42848301502_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201407_15624542462_o img_0653_21409916919_o bayside-panorama3_48800933443_o 2012-RAF-Squadrons-Issue-1 img_4091_21081660906_o img_4203_21276167750_o 7u3a5132_49336224073_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-11 img_9087_24765377667_o Alameda-10 P1080717 img_1470_43725802765_o 2g9a0681_48919069083_o img_1764_42825162890_o img_4917_48919598151_o img_0755_26036934728_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-188_37830944154_o 24-04-2017-desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-de-los-royal-engineers-4_34113617961_o img_8973_38333052562_o_24494947168_o 1_17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32217923562_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23578621414_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-06_23388781422_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
