A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-12_25838070013_o 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-17_26168049530_o 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-30_25838038263_o cueva-de-st-michael-gibraltar_22124499443_o gibraltar-en-el-cuarto-comit-de-la-onu_43397142080_o inmaculada-fotos-23112014-08_15471105014_o img_3351_33432739153_o img_3376_34112845901_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival13_14278107907_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival25_14981861847_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii38_21190220296_o img_5259_34313385731_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201417_15437752767_o 7u3a9671_49900812806_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876288251_o 2g9a1978_49049023746_o img_0173_41972501510_o Alameda-20 2g9a1802_48699321283_o img_3940_45831066281_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_5376_41600462794_o img_2348_39948490785_o img_9942_42190719001_o img_0738_28129696049_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-27_32022607631_o img_0729_35671155493_o img_9924_36082747380_o 2g9a9234_29852392850_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978715306_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-32_30962835285_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-6_30578378180_o 2g9a9293_28860275853_o img_4984_29192586210_o 2g9a9727_27874049585_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9812_27262596603_o 2g9a9864_27262419174_o img_3337_27839970166_o img_5993_25704752580_o img_2506_24997928321_o img_8950_24454314886_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-73_9291753454_o zona-de-prensa_21236159168_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-12_20757957945_o BP200031
