A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-643_22743317185_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-19_20095135941_o img_0332_45389523654_o img_0358_44296999010_o img_9933_43921159031_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-19_16744261133_o concierto-de-albert-hammond-7-noviembre-201404_15714587176_o img_9049_20116389866_o hospital-de-campaa_49726813671_o 2020-75th-Anniversary-of-VE-Day 2017-Queen-Elizabeth-II-70th-Wedding-Anniversary-set tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente31_12249601656_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201405_15002940734_o beaches-3_24765383487_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 2g9a0454_48801428857_o img_0364_5_6_fused_38737229305_o 62032-0-07 sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876342331_o main-street-0434_38925640224_o gib-view-4_25761641128_o 2g9a2126_48706415807_o 2g9a4298_48230650411_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153267_o 2g9a4631_48714309102_o img_1469_37021176745_o img_8061_44600547541_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-2_30846324532_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-163_38490774156_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-24_30879403245_o img_5333_40516051010_o 87824_28871965894_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-22_31562038491_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24098782072_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-24_36750957240_o_36354889963_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-65_21187367445_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9899_27596506160_o img_9164_26560150875_o img_9221_26494044151_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-69_20679512463_o Gibraltar celebrates 75 years since Evacuation 2 Remembrance-Sunday-2022-5
