sector-juego-online-ladboke-gibraltar-01_9222282763_o restauracin-cementerio-witham-28_25451433346_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16191961810_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-olly-murs_9699873395_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-8_29405665056_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-91_29360016551_o 7u3a9323_49597579991_o intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_42848235142_o 2014-Europa-2014-Musical-Instruments 2g9a0538_26246271154_o 2g9a0295_48801427027_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-6_32513496236_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876333231_o 568772657257d7e1a01052c1fcb4f963 img_0175_41972500260_o WP_20140508_029 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114462426_o 2g9a6735-copy_48204115527_o national-day-panorama3_48714306817_o img_4175_45831075731_o img_9514_44600533271_o img_3059_26064770307_o img_9534_44550408592_o img_9898_36433410166_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-175_24674700828_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-17_30874582671_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770640490_o 2g9a7317_29750652991_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026134311_o 108918_29207861510_o img_3851_36326634674_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26128568356_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23578621414_o 000-a-dsc_6112_19250557799_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
