A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_9933_43921159031_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201441_15600018446_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-3_18949681773_o 7u3a5747_49426041977_o 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-20_16266642817_o Mezquita-29 american-war-memorial-1_27855252939_o P1080713 2g9a2049_48706246021_o 2g9a8336_32759671678_o img_3929-1_45106516084_o img_3989_30891444647_o img_8735_26036950178_o 08-may-2017-30visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34606279781_o img_9019_37650150094_o_37651623794_o 2g9a9197_29852395480_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36996841882_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31093430580_o img_2079_37163099455_o 2g9a4610_30827330941_o img_2339_37163010995_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834027665_o img_2375_37020595991_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221947944_o img_3725_37163097255_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417180775_o img_3858_36326627434_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-57 Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-28_21161146256_o img_3266_27596445770_o img_2161_27703087805_o img_9214_26534120516_o img_9079_26560084455_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_23868822294_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-11_17372617674_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day43_15198455231_o Kingston-37 Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cross of Sacrifice, Gibraltar. 7U3A4808 img_6375_20311865425_o 7u3a6896_51343439094_o
