Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. el-telefrico-o-cablecar-es-la-forma-ms-cmoda-de-alcanzar-la-parte-alta-del-pen_22750607161_o 20-agosto-2014-colas-de-salida-de-gibraltar25_14800950239_o img_3748_34112958801_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival26_15168425855_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25466796856_o 2012-RAF-Squadrons-Issue-1-2 img_4088_20920005248_o img_4291_20919506910_o img_9674_42123216141_o 2g9a8830_48826252508_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114498723_o img_3839-1_44014408900_o 2g9a5937_48204654177_o img_4145_31960314788_o img_4587_48713814718_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-15_32129381595_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-140_38547051971_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-55_31765985950_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354077343_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-5_29314691600_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026149991_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-16_29605155335_o img_2140_36973632626_o 2g9a5137_30925624506_o 2g9a5372_30961925375_o 11-de-noviembre-2016-concurso-cyber-centurion-en-gibraltar-4_30828773981_o 116635_29496710085_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834023575_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 2g9a9377_27262517323_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26250775020_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-35_9292003800_o 2015_09_14__0129_20801200654_o 2015_09_14__0256_20800876304_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-25_21112598630_o 7U3A4815 image3_50825082166_o BP200031 img_2327_20514226606_o Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-28
