This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival41_14441282016_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-22_28818272743_o img_5198_34284275982_o 2017-Queen-Elizabeth-II-70th-Wedding-Anniversary-set 2g9a0492_26784203071_o 2g9a0241_48800934073_o cervantes-02 Royal-Wedding 2g9a8858_48826626511_o american-war-memorial-7752_27855785309_o Mezquita-28 2g9a6690_48204068216_o img_1548_43725763105_o img_4542_48713813948_o img_1034_36599992496_o img_8211_30729846318_o img_3108_40937805851_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163382082_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-9_34428539056_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978705376_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-65_29314652230_o img_2155_36973624536_o 2g9a6034_30306765703_o_31078855446_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-108_29314616730_o 2g9a6097_30999767001_o_31001128461_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-13_25326958979_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-21_30790959301_o 2g9a7220_29720286922_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799757576_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-17_24847788481_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
