A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0511_45389671994_o yon-antony-venezuela_14029832182_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-24_16744256733_o img_8939_20134741952_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_8968_20142761145_o 2g9a4910_32174832740_o_31742371313_o img_5297_33601840294_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742374533_o 7u3a6487_49454013093_o 2014-RAF-Squadrons-III regiment-freedom-of-city-0216_15253367778_o 2g9a8311_48875283537_o img_4282_20920810299_o 2g9a3010_49093921918_o 2g9a2026_49049240687_o Monete-pequenin untitled_panorama4_48714306892_o img_0215_45831063781_o img_4145_31960314788_o img_0782_39877392102_o gibraltar-recuerda-a-las-vctimas-de-los-ataques-de-pars_30893215301_o 2g9a5335_30873432881_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-48_22784255748_o 2g9a9365_28857722714_o 126561_29207832900_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-27_24645635670_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-21_19968757261_o img_2990_25132976772_o img_2866_24956276590_o 2g9a1998_26964555760_o img_9024_24481665715_o img_9060_24112902739_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
