conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_25529341087_o 4987-2020_50166301678_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20150911_132759391_ios_22743380435_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16191932770_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9699832013_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival64_14981644840_o img_8776_20115367256_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-26_24461790043_o img_6614_35502334116_o repatriacin-de-nacionales-britnicos-desde-marruecos-covid-19_49870672261_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-36_18948045914_o 2g9a2938_49094630982_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-27_13967048887_o 2g9a0454_48801428857_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente23_12249487484_o university-21_39633679241_o img_0104_42877253635_o 2g9a9545_50032088758_o 7u3a9607_49900298183_o 7u3a5234_49336695886_o img_3946_48699832877_o 2g9a6816_48204116957_o img_5206_48919808592_o img_4011_45781935102_o r3wire-varski-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-13_31011423688_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-169_24674693448_o img_8843_38334131232_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-51_32141129275_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-3_31643379645_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-23_37148806115_o_37027015361_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354078593_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026135641_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31949828333_o 2g9a5973_31113360585_o_31001126141_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-19_30282261864_o 2g9a7209_29207186483_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565260475_o a-dsc_5221_18814156774_o a-dsc_5903_19248940588_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a2875_27090560684_o img_9193_26287242490_o 2015_09_14__0241_21412702822_o 2519-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20520676260_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-06_17995951681_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-15_17560903825_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day10_15014790649_o Kingston-11 Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-15
